Went to the gun range this afternoon. Could use some more practice, but overall not too shabby. At least I know I'm deadly if I need to be.

In North Carolina the Concealed Carry targets are at 3, 5 and 7 yards . Texas is 3, 7 and 15 yards.

Louisiana ... 12 rounds each w/reload in a B-27 ... 6, 10 and 15 feet for Conceal and Carry.

Most gun fights as you may well know take place at 25 feet or less.
Do you shoot "weak side" as well?

I read somewhere that the average shootout lasts 3 seconds, at 3 feet, and 3 shots are fired.

My weapon of choice and I qualified with it. On T-shirt days I CC a S&W .38 Special.

The first time I qualified (civilian not military) ... I used a Charter Arms .38 undercover model 5/shot hammered-double action revolver.
I had to reload twice per target at each distance.

The last time I qualified ... I used a Ruger P-85 9mm.
