The Supreme Court on Thursday granted a Trump administration request that allows the president to fire members of independent federal agencies while suggesting that its legal reasoning would not apply to the Federal Reserve.

The move to pause a lower court ruling formalizes a temporary decision along similar lines on April 9 that allowed President Donald Trump to fire Gwynne Wilcox, a member of the National Labor Relations Board, and Cathy Harris, a member of the Merit Systems Protection Board.

In a notable passage, the court sought to distinguish the case from any attempt by Trump to fire members of the Federal Reserve, including its chairman, Jerome Powell. The court noted that the Federal Reserve is a "uniquely structured, quasi-private entity" that has its own distinct historical tradition.

That is a tall order. They are powerful and control a lot of finance and economics on the planet. They can put the world in Depression anytime they want. It may be possible to print our own currency, will the privately owned owners of the Federal Reserve and other fiat currencies around the world let it happen? Gold and Silver backing of the dollar may be difficult at first. Perhaps a slow process. A fiat currency owned by the United States government may be doable. We may cancel some of the debt from the private corporate owned one now also. The planet is awash in it though. If the world elites go digital, they can hide some inflation as it is more noticeable with cash. And cash is reducing as a means of commerce anyway. The private ankers will not get their "cut" anymore if we remove them. Just to understand how all of that works is a true education. We have to many people majoring in not really needed college degrees though.
