So it seems they had the 4 votes to hear the case but Gorsuch didn't vote for it because he knew it would lose 5-4.

He says it will be heard in the next year or two but based upon his thoughts, I don't see that happening.

The court is allowing the issue to percolate through the appeals courts, as a handful of cases are still pending.
Once that happens, it looks like they will address the issue in full.

Makes sense, given the wide variety of arguments the appeals courts have given to uphold the bans, all of which ignore Heller, Caetano and Bruen.
