Super Bowl LII flyover

Sierra Sue II is one of a handful of flying Mustangs that actually saw combat in World War II. The U.S. Army Air Force assigned her to the 402nd Fighter Squadron in the 370th Fighter Group of the 9th Air Force in the European Theatre of Operations during 1945. 1st Lt. Robert Bohna was her regular pilot, and he named the plane for a girl in his high school. Sierra Sue II was fully restored in 2014 by AirCorps Aviation in Bemidji, Minnesota to a stunning level of detail, replicating her 1944 factory delivery specifications. Authentic details include working World War II era radios and full armor plating. Wings of the North P-51 Mustang to Lead Super Bowl LII Flyover

Why and how will there be flyover as the game is being played indoors?
That's what the outside cameras and massive indoor video screens are for.

Good1 That means they can tape it during daylight this week since it won't matter when it is done.

We don't do flyovers for basketball or baseball, so why not just save some money!

Turn your speakers up loud at 2:55 to hear those beautiful Merlins sing.

Ever since I attended a Willie Day at Williams Air Force Base (now Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport), I like the Warthog.

As a kid I went to the Titusville Airshow in Florida (amazing if you like modern and warbird aircraft). Anyways, there were two highlights for me, one was they had a couple A-10's making passes on fake tanks showing their attack runs (when they work in pairs, the tanks get 9 seconds of respite between passes), and had their GAU8A Avenger cannons loaded with blanks firing. I'll never forget that sound.

Other coolest part was getting to fly in a Huey Cobra. And watching a harrier was pretty neat. And this was right after they declassified the stealth Bomber and let one fly over. And... well if you like planes, go to that.

Been kind of freaky around the Twin Cities this week. Apache helicopters flying around checking for radiation, saw several fighter jets in formation as part of security. Not used to this type of air traffic here.
