I get where you’re coming from and it’s mostly lefties who I believe are engaging in trolling posting. People will respond and Say “don’t be a baby the ignore future is for cowards” or something like that, but they missed a point perhaps. The point is there are certain people that it is impossible to advance a conversation with. There is literally no point in having a conversation with somebody who is only trolling or using personal attacks. Best to have those folks on ignore. BLM posters and some but not all supporters of Israel engage in this type of trolling and personal insult tactics. And I’m all for having a discussion with people I disagree with. But there is no way to logically try and converse with somebody who brings no substance to the table. I hope this point is understood by the anti ignore feature distractors.

I would actually say that when a person engages in nothing of substance only personal attacks and trolling, they are attempting to shut down free speech in a way. I say in a way because the free speech is not being completely shut down, but here is what is going on. Here’s how.. It’s actually a tactic by cancel culture people… get enough trolls into a conversation to totally shut down or distract the point of the conversation.

That is the price we pay for free speech. And I have to agree that we have to have a free speech at a cost. The US message board is one of the most pro free speech political forms out there.

But perhaps the ignore future could be tweaked

It is not illegal to spam insults and slander on a forum.
It is not illegal to never respond directly with criticism about their inane posts.
Furthermore, it serves no purpose to debate these people, for they are on a non-ending repeat cycle.
