Under the Geneva Conventions, you are required to rescue the crew of a ship that you sink during war. To leave them to drown is both illegal and depraved beyond belief. The US military fights with zero morals. It is today's Nazi army.
Fuggem. We are not there to help a single Iranian. This is a war against an enemy that would stop at nothing to destroy us. When the Geneva convention was written, they only considered usual opponents and never dreamed of an enemy like Iran whose entire country and economy is based on terrorism and militarism with the stated goal to destroy the USA, Israel, and all who oppose them.
Besides, you cannot rescue prisoners aboard a submarine. Sri Lanka was right there to deal with it. Further more, if we rescued them, the rat bastard democrats and their rat tail judges would try to bring all of them home to give them unlimited free legal counsel to sue the US government in endless litigation.
Before you knew it, the democrats would be trying to hand Iran another 300 billion dollars in "reparations."
