I was simply saying that the sillyness of the smallness of the number might suggest you are missing something.

Not really. Most of the time the fault is those trying to interpret the statistics are not bright enough to understand them.

Anything is possible. People choose to do these studies and once they are done they are often found with such results. But the work was already done so they publish them anyhow.
