On the 6th of April 2011, during a visit of His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Gul, President of the Republic of Turkey to Indonesia, a Cooperation Agreement on Defense Industry was signed between the two countries which included the sale of 2 MILGEM class stealth corvettes to the Indonesian Navy for US $2 billion. It is envisaged that the corvettes will be delivered in 2014 and 2015[16].
