I'm not really buying the homeless thing either but at least Gregory is back. Should they press charges? Normally I would say yes but it's the Christmas season so I say just let her off with a warning this time.

From the writing I would say this is a woman who has worked until recently, is suffering very low self-esteem and may have just lost her job.

The woman did the right thing and returned it with an apology, so she should not be punished. Her note said she and her kids were homeless this year, and I imagine she was just trying to cheer them up.

No harm, no foul.
