This is incredble. The Labour Party actually sticking to its socialist principles.

Starmer replied: “I think the point you make about contracts is really important. It’s not a free-for-all. There’s lots of public money tied up in procurement, and an incoming Labour government is entitled to say, ‘what’s the terms and conditions?’

“There’s a framework for public procurement, at the heart of which is dignity and respect, and we expect to see unionised jobs, and support unionised industries.”

Starmer was commenting on the fact that Amazon makes millions in govt contracts whilst fighting union recognition in British warehouses. Public money should not go to abusive employers.

Ensuring that worker rights are protected should be a cornerstone of a new govt and the spivs and fly by nights favoured by the conservatives can fuck off.

Don't Scabs pay taxes too in the UK?

Keeping those folks out of government contracts is no way just.

No you are wrong.
When bad employers undercut good employers itt is a race to the bottom and we all end up paying for it.

I am looking forward to this. There is nothing to stop shit like amazon unuionising in order to compete for contracts. This is socialism in action. Excluding slave masters from govt work.
We move our society forward with these small steps.
