Space aliens who come to earth would probably be liberals

Considering what we know about how Republicans and conservatives view science. Looking at the PEW research on the very small numbers of Republican/conservative scientists and the limited fields they represent.
Why wouldn't it would be the same for other creatures?

Looking for new and different? Exploration? Study? Does that sound the least bit "conservative"?
