While that may be true, considering the amount of sects and interChristian religious wars, clearly lots of people translate it differently over the last two thousand years from each other. Again, if it didn't we would all be Eastern Orthodox.

Nope what. Its the first church. Then the Catholic church split off, then ten thousand denominations.
The Thirty Years War wiped out 1/4 the population of central and Western Europe. Clearly not everyone agrees with everyone.
