Ok, they get Gamecocks in the title, that's it. The Chickens with Sellers were beating up LSU badly, and then Sellers got hurt. He returned at Bama, and they almost won. Since then... wow...

35-9 over OU
44-20 over A&M
28-7 over Vandy

Nobody wants to play the Chickens right now the way they are playing. They are the best team at this moment, except they had a few losses when Sellers was hurt.

Sellers is Cam Newton with a better arm.

And as for GA QB Carson Beck, the rating here is

UNDRAFTED

The chickens are playing the tigers next Saturday. Should be a good game.

If SC wins big, hard to keep them out of top 12.

SC is the "wild card" most qualified to win everything the way they are playing.

Depends on which chicken team shows up.

If they can't show up for Clemson, then they don't deserve to be in the playoffs. This is really a playoff game. Hope I get to see it.

Jealous i am. enjoy

I'd give it a 50% chance of being a playoff game. If the Gamecocks win, they well need a lot of help form other teams (knocking off teams in the top 12) to be able to make the official playoffs.

Not sure about that. The Chickens have a star QB and are on a huge winning streak. The playoff stuff considers that. Teams like BYU and Colorado would be blown out by Chickens now. They know that. Clemson is AP and coaches' #12 right now. Chickens are AP 16 and coaches' 14 now. Coaches poll shows college coaches know who they are and what they've done since barely losing at Tide. Smash Clemson on Saturday and Chickens have a great shot at being 12 and making it.

All intangibles are in play too. Chickens will bring tons of fans to any playoff game wherever it is. That's always a problem for Vandy, which does not have a lot of fans, and hence nobody wants them in a bowl game because of that $$$$.

Don't count your chickens before that hatch.

OU is a .500 team
Vandy is a .500 team

Not exactly marquee wins IMO

Wont matter though because AZ State will likely keep them out unless someone else in the top 11 loses this week. If 2 loss AZ State wins their conference they will get the last PO spot over a 3 loss South Carolina team who wont play in the Conference Champ game.

As and aside. It will be interesting how the committee deals with the conference champ games. Should they punish a team who loses in their champ game who would have otherwise made it in and replace them with a team who did play in their champ game?

both beat da Tayde....

Should they punish a team who loses in their champ game

I've always believed the conference championships should be elimination games, part of the playoffs. We have four major conferences. Each conference winner should be one of the 4 top teams who gets a "bye" because they played an extra game anyway = conference championship.

would get drubbed by Chickens now and everyone knows it.

So. Alabama is a very flawed team.

Vandy lost to Ga State and will likely end up 6-6.

Same with OU. Other than Alabama every team they have played that was even remotely decent they have lost to.

But if you want to play college football math.

Vandy beat Alabama.

GA St beat Vandy.

Alabama beat South Carolina.

Using your logic Ga State is better than South Carolina. Right?

South Carolina lost to Ole Miss who lost to Kentucky, who lost to Vandy who lost to Ga State.

Look more proof that Ga State is better than South Carolina.....

Bottom line SC needs a decent amount of help to get into the PO. Just beating Clemson wont do it.

Yeah that's exactly what's going to happen. The question is assuming Oregon plays OSU in the Big 10 Champ game should the loser not get into the PO? Because if that game isnt played they both make it as it currently stands. The same with UT and UGA, The U and SMU.

Thats certainly not obvious. And it wouldn't matter even if it were. AZ state beats AZ and it's Conference champ game and they are in over SC even with a win over Clemson.

BTW were you the guy telling everyone Rattler was the best rookie QB in this years draft?

Hardly conclusive evidence in on that subject. Vince Young was OROY. Aaron Rodgers sat on the bench for three years.

Caleb Williams has yet to really wow. Daniels has a few times, but his accuracy isn't that good, and QBs in NFL just do not last long running a lot. Maye has been lousy. Bo Nix is in the right system for Bo Nix, but his ceiling is low, and I don't see him winning a lot of games in January. What is good for DEN is the defense. ATL QB from UW hasn't played much. MN QB from Mich got hurt.

If it was up to me, the Conference Championships would be playoff games, so yeah, out...

Well we lost our Conference Championship (at home) but we won the national championship... against the same team.... boring and wrong.

20 years ago OU was blown out by K-St in their CC, and then got blown out again by USC in the NC, because THEY NEVER SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN THERE OVER AUBURN.

If you lose your Conference Championship, you are OUT. That's the best policy. Then there is no arguing about who is TOP 4 because those 4 all won CC and hence already played a playoff game. 8 other slots for the "dark horses" like the Chickens this year.

We'll see about Sat. Clemson is good. Chickens are better.
