Songs turning 40 years old in 2025

Great music from the 80s

Part-Time Lover

Is he still alive? Hasn't "I just called" turned 40 too? Loved the guy. Didn't even know he was blind. Didn't also know that Elton John and Freddie Mercury were gay. The Iron Curtain helped. Those were the days!😀

I remember this blew me away when I first heard it. Love it still. 👍👍👍
the video had live versions of the band and animation, for the time that was rather progressive in visuals

A friend of mine just bought a new powerful sound system, I dare say the best that we could get at the time and when I came to see the wonder he put the Dire Straight on, Money for Nothing. I'm telling you, it blew my mind, almost literally. Looking back I pity the people living next door though 😀

crue, classic ballad

KISS, good tune.......horrible outfits! ugh

Y&T, very underrated band, this was one of their bigger hits, just a fun song

journey......in the movie vision quest.......it's old!

Cheezus crackers..........time doesn't fly.........it jumps into a bottmless pit!!!!!!

Wow. I looked at all the songs that came out in 85. A lot of good songs.

Philip Bailey, Phil Collins - Easy Lover

Tears For Fears - Head Over Heels

This song got released in October of 1985. Right after it entered the top ten, it was withdrawn from the radio due to the space shuttle challenger disaster that took place in January of 1986. This was Billy Joe's first top ten since "Down In The Boondocks" in 1965.

God bless you and Billy Joe's family always!!!

Holly (a girl who forever misses him)

My elementary students are OBSESSED with 80s music. Yesterday I had a 2nd grade class beg me to play some Michael Jackson (I did) and my 5th graders think the Take On Me video is the best thing ever.

My favorite Marie Osmond song turns 40 this year. :) :) :)

God bless you and the lady legend always!!!

Holly

This song is from the Sesame Street film named Follow That Bird. It was released on August 2, 1985, and it was the first film that I ever saw at a movie theater. I was only three years old then. :) :) :)

Sadly, four of the singers are no longer here.

God bless you and the singers who are still here always!!!

Holly

P.S. Yeah, besides Waylon Jennings, the two guys who gave Big Bird and the Count their voices have gone forward as well as the lady who gave us Olivia.

I love all good music (in my understanding of course)

From the 1920s till today!

For me good is good .............it sounds right it's a winner. :)

I agree, grew up hearing all kinds of music , continue to do so.
