Something That Still Hasn't Been Addressed In Detail -- What Was The Classified Document That Hegseth Was Using During The Signal Chat?

It doesn't actually matter if the information was classified or not. Under the espionage act , anything that deals with national security or active military operations is related as classified.

If that is the case, why isn't Goldberg in jail?

Prove it.
It's nice to know that you favor a Congressional investigation and a criminal investigation of the Signal chat.

Did Hegseth just make up those dates and times?? Did Hegseth just make up the names of the weapon systems??

No, he copied this information from a classified document or from some classified meeting that he was listening to in real time. That's obvious.

So, why isn't Goldberg charged with Espionage then?

Hegseth was obviously looking at a classified document when he was typing his comments into the Signal chat. That classified document was most likely marked as SECRET or TOP SECRET. As the article below explains, the classified document that Hegseth was copying was most likely the Air Tasking Order used by the Air Force for launching military air strikes.

In other words, Hegseth knew that he was typing classified information into the Signal chat....and he did it, anyway.

Hegseth knowingly broke the law and he should be fired. And everyone else involved in that Signal chat should also be fired. They all knew that you don't discuss classified information on your cell phones. Period.

There needs to be a full Congressional investigation....but Trump's sycophantic MAGA Congress probably won't do it. And Pam Bondi at DOJ sure as hell ain't going to perform a criminal investigation, although she definitely should.

If an average Joe in the military or Federal government had done this, then that person would go to jail.

Personally, I don't much care if he was looking at something stamped 'Classified' or just reciting from memory...

The entire point of the exercise is that various people on that unsecured chat-session disclosed basic targeting and timing data...

If that data was not (yet) Classified then it S-H-O-U-L-D H-A-V-E B-E-E-N T-R-E-A-T-E-D as Classified regardless.

Failure to treat such data responsibly could have resulted in catastrophic consequences for our Warriors had others been included.

It is only by virtue of Responsible Treatment by the journalist and the Grace-of-God or Luck-of-the-Irish that nothing bad came of it.

High-level senior administration officials should know better... or be guided by others until they get their 'sea-legs' under them.

This was both an embarrassment and a failure to secure critical operational data.

I think that most folks would be willing to write it off as an early-times Rookie Mistake...

But it would help their case and their credibility if all concerned would take their fair share of responsibility for that mistake...

The formal act of Classifying a document isn't important.

What IS important is that the timing and asset-types related to an attack should be TREATED as Classified until the op is over.

Hopefully, upon reflection, you do not disagree with THAT...

It's nice to know that you favor a Congressional investigation and a criminal investigation of the Signal chat.
I neither favor nor oppose such a thing. Seems a waste of time considering the whole incident amounted to a giant nothingburger. Keep up with the unhinged dingbat outrage, though. It’s thoroughly entertaining watching you imbeciles hyperventilating 24/7.

So I actually agreed with your post...until you got to this part.

Did you support Hegseth's confirmation? If you did, then you were foolish. This is exactly why you don't appoint unqualified "rookies" to cabinet positions....especially a cabinet position as critical and important as Secretary of Defense.

And this was not a mistake. Hegseth previously served in the military. He has some understanding of classified information.

And Tulsi Gabbard has been an intel officer in the Air Force Reserves for the past 20 years. She definitely knew that this Signal chat was illegal...and she said nothing to these idiots.

This obviously was not the first time that they discussed classified information during a Signal chat, either. They treated this Signal chat like business as usual.

Yes, he did publish it. But he cannot be punished for it....without Hegseth admitting that he royally fucked up.

Which that alcoholic imbecile rapist frat boy will never do.
Don't be so sure. The Espionage Act makes it illegal to:

"To convey information with the intent to interfere with the operation or success of the armed forces of the United States or to promote its enemies' success. This was punishable by death or imprisonment for not more than 30 years or both."

Even publishing enemy codes is now illegal.

"In 1933, after signals intelligence expert Herbert Yardley published a popular book about breaking Japanese codes, the Act was amended to prohibit the disclosure of foreign code or anything sent in code.<a href="Espionage Act of 1917 - Wikipedia"><span>[</span>16<span>]</span></a> The Act was amended in 1940 to increase the penalties it imposed, and again in 1970."

As I already said: Why didn't Goldberg divulge his presence in the chat in real time. Why after? All he did was cause problems for US. He could have shared with Hegseth his presence which would have done more to help than what he did.

It's good to know that you agree that Hegseth also violated the Espionage Act....by sharing classified information with an uncleared person.

You can't have it both ways.

As I already said: Why didn't Goldberg divulge his presence in the chat in real time. Why after?
Why does it matter? It doesn't. Blame Walz for inviting him to the meeting.

All he did was cause problems for US. He could have shared with Hegseth his presence which would have done more to help than what he did.
No, Hegseth caused the problem.....by divulging classified information in an illegal meeting on a cell phone app.

Goldberg is irrelevant when it comes to the wrongdoing of Hegseth and the other idiots.

Hegseth didn't share the info, Goldberg somehow got access to it. Not the same.

I doesn't matter, Goldberg's inclusion was a mistake. He wasn't officially invited. He kept his presence secret. Why didn't he divulge to Hegseth he was there mistakenly? Is he not American? Why use this as a 'gotcha?' Maybe Goldberg is just a TDSer?

So I actually agreed with your post...until you got to this part.
OK...
Did you support Hegseth's confirmation?
Nope...
If you did, then you were foolish. This is exactly why you don't appoint unqualified "rookies" to cabinet positions....especially a cabinet position as critical and important as Secretary of Defense.
Experience is not as important as intellect, management ability, understanding-of and belief-in the mission, and credibility

Which is exactly why I did not support it.
And this was not a mistake. Hegseth previously served in the military. He has some understanding of classified information.
Oh, I'm willing to entertain the possibility that he was using a tool that he assumed was secure and managed by the Group Manager.
And Tulsi Gabbard has been an intel officer in the Air Force Reserves for the past 20 years. She definitely knew that this Signal chat was illegal...and she said nothing to these idiots.
Well... you've got me there... assuming that she did, indeed, have that understanding...
This obviously was not the first time that they discussed classified information during a Signal chat, either. They treated this Signal chat like business as usual.
Perhaps... but I'll bet good money that it's their last using that tool...

Truly pitiful....you think a MAGA simpleton such as yourself actually knows more about this topic than former military officers who spent 20 years handling classified material.

I pity you and I'm embarrassed for you.

Yes, that information is obviously classified. This is not even debatable. The truth actually does matter, believe it or not. And this is why Trump's MAGA Nazism will eventually be defeated.
You forgot to get some of Biden's left wing hack judges to back up what you're saying, hack.

Hegseth didn't share the info, Goldberg somehow got access to it. Not the same.
Idiotic sycophant post "Goldberg somehow got access to it" when it's already known.

Why is maga so stuuuupid.

Impeach Trump #7!
