The sun is gas, assuming the core is dense, the gas would have a higher boiling point in the core. I almost want to believe that the core is hallow like in a hurricane, and the gas spinning around the hallow is much faster than the surface or the poles, gas isn't locked in formation like a solid rocky planet, so the core material could be spinning much faster. Density towards the core and heat from fast movement, probably binds two hydrogen into helium, less having to do with the atoms smashing together, and more to do with a melting point like variable so the nuclei weld together, the two cores form one, the two hydrogen take on the balloon shape leaning in on the new center, release heat from their cores because of surface tension of the balloon shape. The release of energy may or may not balance with gravity.
