Solar and California's canals

Well I'm sure the chi-coms would love to sell the panels to CA. I'd hate to see an Almond shortage.

Wait, I hope Newsome does not expect the US taxpayer to pay for it.
I`m glad that I have my MAGA to English translator app working. chi-com? :auiqs.jpg:

Putting solar over California's irrigation canals is a win-win for all. Not only will it provide vast amounts of electricity, but it will save billions of gallons of water from evaporation.

I have an old friend who worked on that for two decades. He was stymied at every turn by government bureaucracy.

Not surprised at all.....Even on "green projects" they will cut each other's throats to get in on the grift.
LOL A supporter of a President who is a child rapist and 34 count convicted felon, who currently pardons anyone defrauding the public to the tune of a billion dollars or more talking about grift? LOL!!!!!!

The very first thing you learn in physics is that there are no perfect solutions, everything is a trade-off. Manufacturing and servicing/maintaining all of these panels itself has a negative environmental impact on the planet as well as what amounts to slave labor some places in making it, so not always a win-win for everything.

A cheap plastic cover would save more water and be easy and quick to make; these solar covers will be very expensive to make and set up and it will take a long time just to even break even.

The original concept wasn't concerned with making money. They wanted to reduce evaporation and as an added bonus you could power various wifi options in places where it's lacking.

Isn't that California? The bums have still only issued a couple of building permits for people in the Palisades almost a year later. Can you imagine when they need to do environmental impact studies and permits, licenses and everything to do this solar irrigation thing?

I'll bet right now they don't use American made panels, there is nothing in the legislation, and that some chinese guy is behind this just to sell more chinese panels in the USA.
