In a Republic, actually
‘Nearly nine in 10 Americans over the age of 65 are earning monthly Social Security payments, which often make up a substantial portion of their retirement income. The SSA announced that it would end phone identity verification services on March 31 but has postponed the change to April 14 after backlash from seniors who've relied on the practice. This could significantly impact seniors living in rural areas, with a higher number living in Republican states.

Individuals looking to apply for Social Security benefits or change their payment information must do so either online or in person next month as Social Security ends its phone services. There is an exception for those who need to apply for Social Security Disability Insurance, Medicare, or Supplemental Security Income. The SSA's phone changes, which are now slated to go into effect on April 14, will impact seniors across the country. However, those without broadband internet especially rely on phone services for accessibility.

Of those without broadband internet access, most are concentrated in the South and typically live in large rural populations, with their local government more likely to be run by Republicans. Seniors who are unable to verify their identity through the online Social Security portal will be instructed to visit their local SSA office. "A lot of rural areas, many of which are Republican strongholds, don't have reliable broadband. And they might not have a Social Security office within 50 miles. These communities will be hit hardest," Kevin Thompson, the CEO of 9i Capital Group and host of the 9innings Podcast, told Newsweek.’

Trump voters, voting against their own interests.

Another example of the stupidity of voting for Trump.

If you saw the DOGE interview with Bret Baier the other night you would know that 40% of phone calls to SS are fraudsters trying to steal SS benefits. DOGE is protecting SS benefits by requiring in-person or online services.

Cool story.

I’m sure they’ll all vote for increased voter fraud and making SS collapse by voting blue next time.

The Democrats are lying to the voters again about Social Security cuts.
Social Security is being looted by fraudsters and the Dirty Democrats are trying to protect the thieves, and not the legitimate recipients.
It's in everyone's best interest if Social Security is not bled dry by fraudsters.

That was the claim they made. There is no reason to believe it.

Baseless made up claim.

Had we done so last time, no one would be worried about Social Security.

Voter fraud? What does that imaginary issue have to do with Social Security????

Oops I miss typed, I meant social security fraud.

Believe it or don't believe it, if DOGE can remove all bad claims to SS and save $billions in the process, that will extend the solvency of SS.

So.... Nothing is changing. It's going back to the way it used to be before people were able to do social security phone fraud. The only thing that's changing is that the thieves will no longer be able to do their thieving.

Your concern for the people in red states just makes me want to cry. Are they the ones you call MAGAs, garbage, deplorables, etc.?

This has nothing to do with fraud. It is Trump’s payback to his bank industry supporters.
Social Security recipients shopping around for better interest and service among banks will hesitate if they must go through an SSA ID gauntlet when they change their checking account and direct deposit details.

No matter what happens it is tough to believe in you in this nation. Congenital lying and fear mongering is part of the Communist Propaganda Manifesto. You use Saul Alinsky tactics to the extreme. And sadly, many Americans buy into it and even brainwashed as we see.

Would you trust any party that gave:
$375b to John Podesta
$2b to Stacy Abrams
$20b to an EPA slush fund
$42b to build charging stations
$140b DOGE fraud found

So that's about $582b in taxpayer money being stolen and wasted by democrats.

DOGE will throw illegal recipients off SS, Medicare, and Medicaid, SAVING THEM for legal recipients.
