So is that the comet that I can see in the south southwest

"Comets have always inspired dread, fear and awe in many different cultures and societies around the world and throughout time "

Just saying....explaining a bit of history only.

We'll see what happens with this one.

I was down in Moreton Bay fishing and caught what may have been a glimpse. It was very bright even if it was Venus but as it was cloudy I just got short looks at it.

Except for being overcast if it is what I saw then yes. Still trying to verify it though.

Throughout history....Comets have always been regarded as kind of bad omens.

"Comets, with their brilliant tails and unpredictable appearances, are often perceived as omens or harbingers. Historically, the sudden arrival of a comet in the night sky has been seen as a portent of significant change, whether it be an upcoming disaster, the birth or death of a great leader, or a monumental shift in circumstances. Their fleeting existence, coupled with their radiant display, makes them symbols of ephemeral beauty, transition, and transformation."

Well here it's supposed to be visible for about 20 days, climbing higher in the sky and getting dimmer over time.

We've had cloudy weather for a few days but will look out for it tonight if it is clear.

Who said that? It's almost like Robert Frost.

We had a full view of one tail and all near the horizon it sunset it was magnificent. Cloud cover here covers the sky in the southwest so I hope to see it as well if skies get clear.

None of the posts even name this comet, how am I to know WTF you're all talking about?

Venus from my location now is the brightest I have seen it. No sign of the comet. Tall trees maybe obscuring it.

This may help those interested in the two comets this month and the night sky in general.
