Any inference that a wind strong enough to push a 200,000 ton tanker sideways was the cause of the Suez catastrophe is pretty much mentally vacant.
Some quick calculations on the amount of force required easily demonstrate that such a wind would be in excess of 200 miles an hour for a sustained period of time. This would be the equivalent of the category 5 hurricane sitting on top of the Suez canal for several hours.
