Snake vs Toad

I was sitting in my garage a few minutes ago and heard the dog barking up a storm in the driveway. So when I went out to see what he was barking at, there was a 26" garden snake that had a death grip on a fat toad. I sent the dog back in the garage and took a few pictures, until the snake finally dragged its prey off backwards, into the woods.

I know the snake can handle it, but I never try to eat anything bigger than my head.

Toads are a tough nut to crack for any snake. There's every possibility the toad eventually got away.
