So according to John carpenter looks like snake plissken will get gender swapped in the escape from New York remake. As if I had 0 interest in a remake they managed to put my interest level in the negatives.

Not sure what the point would be of remaking it. Instead of gender swapping established characters, why not create new characters in new stories.
