First attempt at a Viking pouch.

Whaaat? I thought Vikings just used the nutsack off a reindeer for a pouch? I learn something new here every day.

Nice work! I would have hurt myself trying to make something like that.
There's a lot of different variations of the simple prototype I tossed together. Here's one a guy made and actually called it his "nut sack".......

He might need that if he ever runs a Viking race. :laughing0301:

I don't really make a lot of things of leather to speak of but I repair the hell out of a lot of old leather.

I have made knife sheaths, simple slings, belts, and such.

Already getting my next project ready, a belt bag. It will kinda look like this one.

Basic segments cut and dyed. The colors are looking different due to the lighting.

Front face sewn to sidewall. It's 2oz leather (about a mm thick) so fairly easy to sew. I'm using black waxed linen thread.

The speckles are just leather "dust" I didn't brush off before taking the picture.
Since I'm doing this by hand I'll need to give my fingers a rest.......... Put the back on tomorrow (I hope).......

Sewed the back on and glued the belt loop in place. A single wide loop instead of two thin ones. Will stitch it later, my fingers are raw..........

Toying with closure ideas, I like this one best (so far).

My very first belt bag is finished. That is unless I decide to add some embellishments I'm considering.

Not bad for a first time prototype if I do say so myself........... Now that I'm done patting myself on the back the next one will be on 7-8oz leather but not right away. I have some other projects I need to focus on first.

That’s awesome! Whether you choose decorative stitching, tooling, or hardware accents, it’s all about making it uniquely yours.
