Should the parents of unvaccinated kids in S. Texas who have contracted the measles..............

The infected kids in the article are not the point. Illegals flooding our border and bringing in sickness that the U.S. all but stomped out to our uninfected children is the point. You're pretty dumb.

The illegal kids are more likely to vaxxed than ours, goofus.

All the more reason to vacci nate. The parents are brainless.

Here in CO parents can get a religious waiver to get their kids admitted to school if they like the idea of exposing them to serious illness for god's sake.

As a parent I'd hope the parents would not let them in any public venues. They don't belong in public.

Measles outbreak grows bigger in rural Texas, and officials expect more cases

At least 58 new cases of measles have been reported across northwest Texas in recent weeks, state health officials said Tuesday, in a "highly contagious" outbreak that might be linked to lack of vaccination.

A bulk of these new cases in rural northwest Texas are in Gaines County with 45 documented incidents of the disease, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services.

In the last three weeks, nine cases have come from Terry County, two from Yoakum County and one each from Lubbock and Lynn Counties, according to the state.

At least four patients had been vaccinated, but the "rest are unvaccinated, or their vaccination status is unknown," the health department said.

Most of the infections are in school-age kids, and 13 have been hospitalized.

More cases are expected.

...........be held responsible for unnecessarily putting their kid's health, and other kid's health, in jeopardy?

What about the HHS director if his anti-vaccine stance convinced some of those parents not to vaccinate their kids? Any responsibility there?
Yes.

Good point and, those newer cases should be evaluated to see if our vaccines are still effective. Viruses tend to change over time if left unbridled in other countries.

Another thought, when I was young, before vaccines, parents used to purposely expose their kids to other kids who were infected so they would actually contract the virus, get sick, and build up an immunity.

Should the Biden administration...........be held responsible for unnecessarily putting their kid's health, and other kid's health, in jeopardy, by letting in illegal aliens with measles?
West Texas has highest vaccine exemption rates in the country at 14%...
This freedom at play...

Looks like MAGA is hammering a debunked story

Looks like Mexico has better vaccine rates than West Texas

Comparable with US generally and definitely better than West Texas...

Measles Vaccine research is pretty good but you have to get rates up to 95% and keep it there to keep it at bay.

Vaccine rates in West Texas look well below that.

Must say, USAID were brilliant at doing this untold work around the world... Viruses don't respect borders...

The illegal immigrant thing is a bit stupid... 300 million people cross the US Mexico border a year... That is over 800k a day... Vast majority are just legally getting on with their lives doing business with US second largest trading partner...
Blaming it on undocumented who a lot have been in the US for years or decades is just stupid.

Six weeks without new cases marks end of outbreak, over 30,000 vaccinations administered

CDPH Public Information Office: media.cdph@cityofchicago.org

CHICAGO
- The Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) is declaring the recent outbreak of measles in the City of Chicago officially over, with two full incubation periods for measles (42 days) having passed without any new cases.

On March 7, 2024, CDPH confirmed the first case of measles in Chicago in five years. As additional cases began to surface, including several in a new arrivals shelter, CDPH, in collaboration with many healthcare and community partners, mobilized a rapid response of symptom screenings for shelter residents, detailed contact tracing, and isolation of people with suspected or confirmed measles. In total, 64 individuals tested positive for measles, 57 of whom were associated with a shelter setting. Over 30,000 doses of measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine have been administered to Chicago residents. A CDPH report published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) projected a high probability of an outbreak of over 100 cases without the City’s rapid intervention.

I wasn't talking about the legal vetted immigrants. I wasn't blaming the illegal aliens already here for decades either. Biden let in unvetted thousands. We don't know where they are, who they are, or their health status.

Why aren't you being charged?

You voted for and supported the unchecked flood of disease into this country putting the lives of innocent children at risk.

They tracked the original cases to a couple of adults who were unvaccinated and had travelled internationally. They didn't say where they had traveled. Measles outbreaks are common in east Asian countries and to a lesser extent some middle east/African countries.

Not south or central America.
