This is what secular humanists believe. They have several principles, some of which are heavily aligned with certain liberal and left-wing political beliefs, as well as scientism:

I think we should ban it on the grounds of it being deceptive and cult-like. Many people who claim to be "atheists", such as those of the New Atheist movement are, in fact, secular humanists in disguise. So while they dishonestly claim to merely have a "lack of belief" in a God, they, in fact, have a set of positive beliefs which they are trying to proliferate. It's a way to lure people in thinking they are just trying to escape believing in a God (or the Judeo-Christian idea of God), when in reality, they're being lured into another belief system, when they could just as well do without a belief system at all, if that fits their fancy.
And if people object on 1st Amendment grounds, then they're further affirming that it's a religion, just as the Supreme Court has recognized.
