Debate Now Should religion still be given special protection?

No rules, just the question.

I understand why religious belief needed protection then, but why does it now?

IMO it is just a law that protects bigots.
 
Are you asking about the Establishment Clause?
 
Religion has no special protection at all.

It is covered in the 1st Amendment.
 
I don't think anything should tax-exempt, including atheist non-profits or theist churches. I do think that veterans over 55 with honorable discharges or with more than 50% disability ratings should be tax exempt.
