Criticizing individual men and women is fine, but here's an argument for why "hating women" as a whole should be a criminal offense:

*Everyone came from a woman. Therefore, if you hate women, you hate yourself. (I would argue that hating men is hating oneself as well, but people didn't spend 9 months inside of a man).

*Women have rights and freedoms under the law. Hating women is therefore anti-American.

Therefore, if we made it illegal to express hatred of women, the quality of life would likely improve quite a bit.

What a person thinks or feels is their own business until and unless they choose to make it known to others. Nonetheless, only actions are punishable so no, making "hating women" a crime is not feasible or probably enforceable.

How, exactly do you establish standards for "hating" women even if your silly notion of criminalizing opinions was feasible?

Is it not wanting women to get abortions that is hateful or is it forcing women to compete against biological males in sports?

Hey, I've got a great idea. Why not make it both??!!. That way, EVERYBODY gets to go to jail.

Being a straight, white, American male, I can't imagine "hating" women. I love 'em all, even to a certain extent the ones whose politics I disagree with. That doesn't mean I view women and men as being "equal." There are differences, and the secret to understanding women is to know and accept those differences. They can drive you ******* nuts sometimes. But God bless 'em, where would we be without them?

What is a woman?

Men and women are equal before the law.

"Differences" don't negate equality.

It's not illegal to hate anyone. What are you, 6 years old?

Man's law, of course. But God didn't see them that way when He made them. The only time they can achieve any kind of true equality is in marriage, as in the biblical phrase "a man and woman cling together as one flesh."

If you make it illegal to hate women, every damn woman in this country would be in the clink.

Incorrect.

1This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; 2Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

Man and woman were both created in the image of God.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

In Christ Jesus, man and woman are one.

The only time they can achieve any kind of true equality is in marriage, as in the biblical phrase "a man and woman cling together as one flesh."
Well, as an atheist, I'm not sure why you care, but as individuals with rights under the law, men and women are equal. And I'm confused as to why you believe that men and women necessarily achieve equality in marriage.

Christ didn't appear to the general public to offer salvation until about 4,000 years after the creation took place in Genesis.

Again, since you're an atheist, I'm not sure why you care about Christ.

But both the creation account and Paul's statement affirm men and women to be equal.
