Trump is trying to make it one

Easter is deeply rooted in the traditions and folkways of the American nation itself. Some 80% of Americans celebrate this holiday — a larger number than the nearly two-thirds of Americans who identify as Christian.

Last week, Trump introduced legislation that would establish Easter Monday as a federal holiday. Easter Monday is already recognized as a public holiday in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and most of Western Europe. The United States is one of the only nations in the West that doesn’t formally recognize it as such.

The bill was introduced with Rep. Riley Moore (R-W.V.).

Should it succeed?

I had thought it already was. I would support it being declared a national Holiday.

Egypt, the Pharoahs and their religions were basically 100% a Death Cult. The vast, overwhelming majority of religions are Death Cults.

When the Jews left Egypt, they went to great lengths to not become a Death Cult like Egypt was.

Early Christianity was just another sect of Judaism so we're not supposed to be a Death Cult. When the Romans took over Christianity (they did) they made it more of a Death Cult than it was before. Mostly due to the nature of their people.

Then the Protestant Reformation happened. A good thing. When the Church started to lose its choke-hold on Western Civilization is exactly when the Enlightenment started.

Nothing against the Catholic Church. They got us through the fall of Rome and kept Europe alive. Including our entire civilization. But they became too powerful. And we all know about power and the ensuing corruption.

No. We don't want to be come a Death Cult. Easter Sunday is a day of Solemn reflection and should stay that way. We should not celebrate death.

And please don't bore me with any kind of 'rebirth' nonsense. Easter is all about death. Without death first, there could not have been a Resurrection.

If 80% of the nation celebrates Easter ... then it's already a national holiday ... whether the government says so or not ...

... but I guess Papists have to be Papists ... may God have mercy on their evil souls ...

Would be much better if Good Friday was.

Why?

It’s always on Sunday
Some people are forced to work it without any benefit whatsoever, even though it is on a Sunday.

No, too many bogus federal holidays as it is.

I mean Juneteenth....Come on man.
I like the idea of a holiday the nation celebrates every month of the year.

For April, that would make the most sense.

Naturally, you would rather slave away without any monetary benefit.

Ok then.

From what I hear, Judaism has a celebration of something about every month. Remember, they are why we have a weekend via the Sabbath. Men should not live their whole life slaves 24/7, as it was before the Sabbath was introduced.

As for Juneteenth, I'm Ok with it.

And still would if it were a national holiday

Not necessarily.

And if they did, they would be making more money than they would normally.

Easter Monday is NOT a public holiday in Canada. Banks are NOT closed, and neither are stores. It's a holiday for government workers and schools.

Banks cannot legally be closed 4 days in a row because of the "Bills of Exchange Act", which gives 3 days grace on all loans and debts. Since banks are closed on Good Friday, closing on Easter Monday prevents payments to be made within the 3 day grace period. I expect a similar law prevents Easter Monday from being law in the USA as well.

But I doubt Dumb Donald knows anything about it.

.

I would prefer Easter Sunday as a holiday, compared to the filthy display of Autopen Joe's "Transgender Day of Visibility".

Good Friday would probably be the better day as was already mentioned.
