They are OK. They have such dinners at fire halls and VFWs over in Rockingham and other poultry counties.

Thing is they started shipping them along with chicken/turkey feet to China.

Volunteer fire department fund-raisers here are more about serving either chili, pancakes or wild game, and used to frequently raffle off shotguns or rifles, as another draw card to get public financial support for equipment or equipment upgrades.

Firearm raffles have sort of tailed-off in my AO, they used to be a really big deal.

One VFD about ten miles away still holds one that raffles off around125 new guns at a time around twice a year.

The shop that supplies them just uses the opportunity to clear-out new guns that are slow movers.
