Texas deputy sexually abused undocumented immigrant girl, 4, sheriff says
Sad story if true -- but everyone is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law (..almost..) The gist of the story is basically a sheriff's deputy sexually assaulted a little girl whose mother is an undocumented immigrant, and the suspect took advantage of the mother's fear of deportation.
Apparently it is a common thing to victimize undocumented immigrants because they are far less likely to report that crime to law enforcement due to fear of being deported.
Now I see some people seeing this as another deterrent -- even going so far as to ask if we should even go after people who commit crimes against undocumented immigrants -- Yes, we should.
