The downfall began in 99' I saw it first hand. 7 story unimaginable spectacular building full of busy shops smack dab in the center of it all at Union Square. Only problem? The bums outside make it nearly impossible to street park by meters. They want $20 to leave your car alone. Smashed windows, ladies harrassed. Forget the walking district parking lots, even worse. BART station in basement? Only if you lived local perhaps? From where? OAK? Maybe BATT went to SFO in those days?

Used to have a nice XMAS display. Lots of DINK home O roaming about.. Don't bring your kids up.

Are you stuck in an urban hellhole? You should consider leaving. Just down the road a small town is all ready for Christmas. A tree in the local commons, a Santa trailer for the kids, decorations and lights abound. Because the people want and like that stuff. Personally I think they should have waited until after Thanksgiving, but better than the urban alternative.
