I picked this one up a couple of days back at a local shop.
Right away I knew I'd have to refinish the top and bottom hand-guards as they were basically unfinished with some kind of purpleish dye on them. Ugly as sin. They turned out brown with a red tone.
I also removed the generic AKM style US grip and stuck a "fat" wood grip of some flavor on till the .mil Yugo grip I ordered comes in. I ordered a Yugo sling at the same time.
As to the weapon itself it is very well built and it shot really well. No issues at all.....I didn't even have to adjust the sights as it was already sighted in.
It has a chromed bore which most Yugo/Serb AKs don't.
Things I did not like (besides the crappy finish on the HGs) was that it came with nothing in the box but an odd instruction manual that was more of a afterthought. Not even a sling. Given what they retail for I would have expected better.
It came with a Croatian mag (last round hold-open) but it's hard to tell what mag you might get as "mags will vary" is what is advertised. Evidently they came into the country without a mag and the importer just tossed one in the box from whatever was at hand.
Atlantic Arms has them.....They are a fairly new import.
