Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) said Tuesday that she’s under federal investigation for participating in a video last year, where she and other Democrats with military and intelligence backgrounds urged troops to defy illegal orders.

“Facts matter little, but the threat matters quite a bit,” she told The New York Times in an interview. “The threat of legal action; the threat to your family; the threat to your staff; the threat to you.”


The Hill has reached out to Slotkin and the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia for comment.

Slotkin is a veteran who served three tours in Iraq and previously worked for the CIA.
