Honestly I think the smart money right now would be on the pick to be Laura Trump. And Tim Scott is apparently a front runner to take over the GOP which would explain why he isn't on the list for cabinet appointments, at least not yet.

We'll see how it goes.

Not sure. Tim Scott's term ends in 2028 and he is such a strong MAGA senator I suspect President Trump will hope he stays in the Senate at least until then. And yes the RNC has co-chairs so Michael Whatley will remain as chair if Laura is targeted for another position. The two of them, especially Laura, have been awesome in that job. It would not be unprecedented for a family member of the President to be in Congress and she is a Trump by marriage rather than by birth and is definitely the most political among the family members.
