The Senate has voted to confirm Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence.

Gabbard was a controversial choice for President Donald Trump, with Democrats and some Republicans questioning her stances on Russia, Syria, and other foreign-policy related matters.

Congratulations Tulsi!

That was always going to be his most difficult option, but this is what the people wanted. Only lone career politician McConnell voted against her on the GOP side. That guy is basically just keeping a seat warm, what a massive fall from grace.

If I were Trump I'd tell Gabbard to visit this site, hear my story and tell her "this is the kind of nation you are tasked with AVOIDING occurring here in America, from the top to the lowly suburban police force"

There is a reason Canada is so upset about tariffs, we do not produce anything of substance as our best and brightest are destroyed by the least impressive among us.

Great hockey players
That is what you produce.

Not goalies
Something bad has happened to your goalie program.

Yep, poor and blue collar Quebecers can't afford hockey as it is immensely expensive, nor the best athletes in Ontario since their parents dont have the cash. Thus, Canadas quality of player will erode over time.

More winning. RFK next up. These were two prominent democrats lost to the kookiness and corruption of the democrat party.

Distance tests a horse, time tests a person. :)

👉 As Director of National Intelligence (DNI), Tulsi Gabbard has indicated several potential policies and changes she may implement[1]:

  • Focus on terrorist threats Gabbard intends to refocus the intelligence community on terrorist threats to America and Americans abroad by redirecting resources and identifying gaps in intelligence[1].
  • Ensuring access to intelligence Gabbard stated that the DNI must ensure that the President has access to all intelligence to make the best-informed decisions[1]. She committed to briefing the President daily on available information, options, and an assessment of possible repercussions for each option[1]. She also said she would ensure that the truth is reported, regardless of its convenience, and comply with the law if asked to perform an illegal order[1].
  • ODNI reform Gabbard committed to assessing the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) to ensure its effectiveness and eliminate redundancies[1]. She indicated her support for policy proposals to cap its size, eliminate ODNI taxes, and return some ODNI employees to their home agencies[1].
  • Information sharing Gabbard is concerned that stove-piping (lack of information sharing) remains an issue within the intelligence community and said that unnecessary bureaucratic layers may contribute to it[1].
  • Limiting access to sensitive intelligence She believes it is important to severely narrow those who have access to the most sensitive and compartmentalized intelligence reporting and capabilities[1].
  • Protecting Fourth Amendment rights Gabbard stated she would uphold Americans' Fourth Amendment rights while maintaining vital national security tools like Section 702[2][7]. She voiced support for additional reforms and agreed that warrants should generally be required before an agency undertakes a U.S. person query of Section 702, with caveats for exigent circumstances[1].
  • Preventing leaks To prevent another Snowden-like leak, Gabbard proposes four steps: ensuring no unconstitutional programs within the intelligence community, supporting security clearance reform to limit access to the nation’s top secrets, ensuring that every person in the workforce understands their rights as whistleblowers and the legal channels available, and establishing a direct hotline to Gabbard[1].
  • Security clearance reform Support reforms to security clearance to streamline access to top-secret intelligence[1][6].
  • National Intelligence Priorities Framework (NIPF) Overseeing and directing the implementation of the NIPF is a core responsibility of the DNI[5].

Commentary:
Now, the hard work starts. Gabbard is charged with leading a workforce that is hostile to Donald Trump and probably dismissive of her, and her first task clean house and make it a painful place to be. She has to clean up an intelligence community that has been relentlessly politicized and has long since stopped believing it exists to support the administration and now views itself as a policy-making establishment.
