It seems a crazy cat woman is suing the Blue Angels that put her dying cat in distress.

Since I very rarely start a thread I don't know if I need to original sentences in the Military forum or not, but this one may qualify as 2nd sentence.

A Seattle woman is suing the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, alleging that their fighter jet performances caused the death of her elderly cat and that she was unconstitutionally blocked from voicing her concerns on the squadron’s official Instagram account.

Lauren Ann Lombardi filed a complaint in U.S. District Court on July 21, seeking declaratory and injunctive relief against three Navy officers in their official capacities: Cmdr. Adam Bryan, Lt. Ben Bushong, and an unnamed social media administrator.

According to the lawsuit, Lombardi claims the Blue Angels’ annual flight demonstrations over Seattle in August 2023 and 2024 subjected her pet cat, Layla, to extreme distress.

.

The Blue Angels publish their flight schedules well in advance and a vet could have given her kitty valium.

What would she do if it was thunder that scared her poor elderly -- key word -- kitty to death?

I LOVED it when the Blue Angels were there for Seafair! I was on top of a three story building once when they did a fly-over of downtown, and they were low enough that we could easily read the writing on the underside of the wings. We loved the deafening roar that was so loud we couldn't even hear each other scream.

She's a professional victim who may or may not learn before it's too late that it's time to grow up. I'd hate to be her therapist.

in their official capacities:

I doubt she'll get anywhere with this, other than laughed out of court

BUT with this states courts and politics, ya never know

She may have a case about being blocked on social media if the accounts were government accounts, but the rest of the case is hogwash.

or prop wash, or jet wash, or whatever type of wash.

yeah but the social media accounts had nothing to do with her cat dying or being traumatized.

Here in WA you never know what kind of wash yer gonna get. But you can usually tell who's a transplant cause they say 'Warshington'

I hope she wins.

If they'd left her crazy posts in place, she'd have just been laughed at.

.
If she made posts to their facebook page the folks around here would have crucified her. Locals to Blue Angels don't take it lightly when someone disses them, much less sue them.

Not necessarily big fans of Seafair festivities, my in-laws had a big deck overlooking Stan Sayres Park, and they got pretty excited about the Blue Angels' flyovers of the hydros.

Hell, you ought to live down here as we just endured 3 days of it and in those 3 days it was estimated 270,000 attended. Even when the practice on NAS it's packed almost weekly. In July you can't go anywhere in 15 minutes.

Need they be flying anywhere near residential areas? Not sure i would be for that.

All around where they fly are homes, it is densely populated. It is a traffic nightmare beyond their normal traffic nightmare

I'll take "WHAT I DON'T MISS ABOUT SEATTLE" for $1000, Alex.

I could never understand the thing about spending three days on a boat, drinking beer.

LOL many spend 3 days out in the gulf or sound partying. Red, White and Blues week is crazy. Blues really start performing on Wednesday morning about 7. Thursday the practice how and where they're going to fly. Friday dress rehearsal and Saturday small stunt planes and the Blues not to mention that on Saturday morning all the parking is full around 2:30 to 4:00AM. Many are treated for heat before noon. Even though it all ends at 3PM on Friday and Saturday the traffic is backed up for about 7 hours after. Most locals do not go anywhere on Fri and Sat.

  • A coalition of Seattle residents and climate activists are protesting the annual Blue Angels air show at Seafair, citing concerns about militarization, noise, and carbon emissions.
  • They've launched a billboard campaign on Rainier Avenue South and gathered thousands of petition signatures to end the Blue Angels' participation.
  • Seafair officials acknowledge the concerns and state they use biodegradable smoke trails and provide advance notice of the show dates for those sensitive to noise.

Just when you thought WA couldn’t get any more "odd".

It makes one wonder if WA is actually part of the USA....They certainly hate the sounds and sight of Freedom.

I bet they would be tickled to death to host a Davos-style "climate summit" the with all the attendant private jet traffic.
