Scott Walker s proposed 300 million higher education cut comes as other states are putting money back into colleges

Gov. Scott Walker’s proposed budget cut of $300 million to the University of Wisconsin System comes as other states, nationally and in the Midwest, have inched up funding for higher education, restoring support lost during the economic recession. More increases are expected in coming years.

Is his plan the Perry plan? To maim public education in his state and then try to get liberals from Blue States to come in and work there? Has it really worked that well for Texas? Number one in minimum wage jobs with no benefits? Is that the GOP goal?

Can anyone tell me, how is this good for the country?

Will this plan help make him president?

Repubs, especially tee potties, are still very anti-elitist education. They want other countries to take first place on the planet so they fight against jobs, manufacturing and education.

Some RWs are so incredibly stupid as to call teachers "communists".

Hell, worse as none of our people do the work for the super rich as we'll be importing people from china, mexico to do it. Funny how the gop can bitch as they outsourced tens of millions of our jobs all the way back to nixon.

I understand what you're saying, but cutting isn't going to help fix this. Refoming the system and making it work is the only option.

Why not take Finlands or Taiwans system and use it as our own?

Moonbeam, there was nothing the matter with our public schools until the Communists, who had no place to hide after McCarthy found a safe place infiltrating our education system. A highly unlikely place for them to go back in the 50's, and no one sort them out there. Slowly they were able to introduce the communist agenda into both other professors and students, that took to a THEN NEW way of thinking. Few, if any remembered the roots and seeds of communism coming from the East as everything was covered over with diversion, or excuses.

We'll just ignore all the left wing anti-capitalist bullshit they spew while raking in a very generous income from capitalists.

I would eliminate all government funding for higher ed. Tuition fees will plumet and the commie professors can move to Cuba.

Simply proves where the communists found that weak spot to attach to.... I bet you may have been one of those early demonstrators of the 60's, but I remember the coffee houses of McDougal, and Bleecker streets!

Tickets for the worst seats in the stadium for a football game between Michigan at Maryland next October are $150.
U-Mart is out of control.
Why not freeze tuition and demand that they educate instead of acting like a corporation??? What is so wrong with this idea.

We both know we're worse off without a educated population.

Simply, the Unions and their DummycRAT friends, who GAIN from the teacher union dues won't allow it! The system must be torn down by money, that is the only way to chase the scum away!

Scott is moving up fast as the choice guy. The rabid left tried three times to strip away the voters will but failed. The man knows how to deal with the scumbags.
