I think repubs missed an opportunity here. This is going to make democrats look good. Repubs should have jumped on this when they had a chance.

This has reached a stalemate. Public discourse hasn't reached a consensuses and I don't expect a thing till they do.

Well, I could have told the democrats that if they are trying to pull a fake hoping to force an off-sides by the republican team, or waiting for Trump to blink and fold his hand in some sort of bluff, that they've picked the wrong guy to try to scare or fake out.

Schumer may not be caving, but in a few minutes there is a test vote on the new Republican 'minibus and CR" in the Senate. Supposedly enough Democrats are going to vote for it that the shutdown could end by Monday. That's according to foxnews on my Siriusxm....so no link yet

I think its a CR to January 31st, but with SNAP funding for all of fiscal 2026.

If there is no agreement on ACA subsidies by 1/31/26 then the shutdown happens again.
