The school system says the victim, who has been a TCS employee for nearly 10 years, was the "victim of a vicious and unprovoked act" and suffered severe injuries.

Police say 24-year-old Michael Simmons repeatedly punched the bus aide in the face. Simmons is reportedly the uncle of one of the students dropped off at the bus stop. He was allegedly upset with the aide for "putting his hands" on his nephew.

"The System received a complaint that the aide had pinched or scratched a student on the September 4 afternoon route. The video from the bus that day was pulled and thoroughly reviewed by Tuscaloosa City Schools' officials," TCS officials said in a statement released around 6:30 p.m. Friday.

"There was no evidence that the aide pinched or scratched any child, or acted inappropriately in any way. This was communicated to the complainant. A second administrator reviewed the tape at the request of the complainant and reached the same conclusion."

The victim was transported to DCH Hospital with a major fracture to his left orbital socket. Doctors say he will need surgery to repair his cracked eye socket.

That's some of the most ignorant crap that I have ever seen.

That was the aide hitting the child. Not the uncle.
Time for the uncle to go to prison for several years.
