However, who is buying whose debt? And whose economy is growing like gangbusters? Who is graduating ten times the engineers as we are? And who is doing major inovation on technologies ranging from alternative energies to electric cars?

The Chinese Communists inherited the problem of overpopulation. Even the early internal wars and firing squads made no inroads on that problem. Their 'one child' policies have. To the point that they are going to have the same problem as all the industrial nations at the same time as we are. An aging workforce, with far fewer workers to replace them.

these are things that have helped more to control pop. there and in the West. A movement towards a market based economy with a liberal democracy is a better answer than some oppressive gov't dictate. People when given the economic and social freedom will make rational choices under their circumstances for how many children they need and can support.



The rural lands in China- the people do not pay attention to the one child policy- tradition and they need more children to work the farm ; their children die at a greater rate than the urban people

Well...

Like I said, I do like cats. This one is psychotic tho'. She'll be sitting there all nice and quiet and lovey-dovey then (with no provocation) poof out and snarl and run off. (she's only bit down or grabbed me with the claws a few times in all these years, she knows better; she'll start and then get a look on her face like "uh oh... I fucked up now" as I yell at her "what the hell do you think you're doing?!") Within minutes she's back, trying to crawl into my lap again, purring and rubbing her cheeks against me. Damn cat.

I do give her credit for one thing. She's a hell of a guard cat. NO one (man or beast) approaches the yard or house without her going off.

Who eats their pet?

The way i see it, if you are willing to eat your pet, then it never was your pet just your dinner. A "pet" is a companion, not something edible. A rational pet owner would not think of the wastes of an animal but of the joy. Would you eat your child bc of their carbon footprint? No. My pet is an extension of my family. I will never eat my pet or a family member.

This should be a clue.

Have they been through peer review as have the 'hide-the-decline' pseudo-scientists that forwarded the bogus weather data to bolster the 'carbon footprint' shit. The ideas are similar though in one regard...both tend to impose restraints on citizens...one in trumped up taxes, the other in denial of pets. Eating dogs and cats it out of the question for a pet lover. Just because some people eat dogs and cats doesn't mean we're all ungrateful for their companionship and service.
