Saudi cleric says women who drive risk damaging their ovaries

(Reuters) - A conservative Saudi Arabian cleric has said women who drive risk damaging their ovaries and bearing children with clinical problems, countering activists who are trying to end the Islamic kingdom's male-only driving

"If a woman drives a car, not out of pure necessity, that could have negative physiological impacts as functional and physiological medical studies show that it automatically affects the ovaries and pushes the pelvis upwards," he told Sabq.

"That is why we find those who regularly drive have children with clinical problems of varying degrees," he said.

He did not cite specific medical studies to support his arguments.

A woman walking down the street is more likely to be raped than a woman in a car

The Saudi scholar used the example of a woman who's car broke down on a lonely highway. .......

Saudi Historian is a misnomer
misnomer
[ misˈnōmər ]

NOUN
noun: misnomer · plural noun: misnomers

  1. a wrong or inaccurate name or designation:
"“king crab” is a misnomer—these creatures are not crustaceans at all"

Saudi history is about as accurate as black sports legends written by the Klan.

The Saudi scholar makes several good points. .....
Think his only point is he doesn't like losing parking spaces to women. Sounds more like he has a problem along those lines than anything solid about women driving that he links that to being raped but not something like revealing attire or flirtatious behaviour. Usually if a woman wants to be raped she isn't driving away in a car. That's usually what they do if they DON'T wanna be raped. :)

Car breaks down you lock your doors and use your cell phone to call for help

I am unaware of a large number of rapes of women in this country in broken down cars

How many times have you been hit in the head?
He makes a good point? Blatant sexism and abuse that does not even understand the place of women during the time of Mohammed. They owned businesses, rode camels and horses, led armies bare breasted, taught the quran. The were smart, powerful leaders and well respected. They dress in bright colors and to please themselves. They acted as equals.
Now they should be silent, subservient, hidden from sight and not allowed to move without a family male at their side.
Madness and not what islam was intended to be.
