A fallacy. You don't have to recognize the marriage of any gay person as valid. In fact, I would argue that most gays don't give a fiddler's fuck what you recognize.

They're looking for recognition under the law. And in 36 of 50 states, they have it. In 48 of 50 states, their marriages are recognized as being as valid as straight marriages thanks to the mutually reciprocity of contracts between States mandated by the constitution.

Whether or not someone is 'born' gay in my opinion is immaterial- the reality is that millions of Americans are gay.

Our society is not and will never be 'hinged' on 'gay culture' but we are coming to accept gay people as equals, who should not be discriminated against based upon their gender preference.

Finally- to the title of your thread- how is 'same sex marriage' a government intrusion any more- or less than 'opposite sex' marriage?

The government will not force you into a gay marriage- they will simply provide the same government issued license to a gay couple that my wife and I have had for over 20 years.

State governments write the contract law that is marriage, where the issue is solely between same-sex couples denied access to that marriage contract law they're eligible to participate in and the states that have violated the 14th Amendment.
