He is the original Santa Claus.

Martin Luther wanted to do away with the Nikolaus and invented the Christ Child, who brings presents on Dec 24 or 25.

And the German Catholics liked it so much, that some think now the Christ Child is a Catholic invention.

Catholics are intentionally ignorant.
Christmas has NOTHING to do with Christ. Like every other "Christian" holiday, that church adopted pagan days and "dressed them up" as Christian so as to allow gentiles to keep their pagan days but do it for Jesus rather than their gods

Even today so called "Christians" refuse to abandon pagan days for God's Holy Days

"Oh that there were such a heart in them that they would fear Me and keep My Commandments"

and so Luther started a Catholic tradition. 😊

the story of Nikolaus is not complete without mentioning the Krampus or Knecht Ruprecht, his sinister servant.

In Austria the Krampus plays a big role.
