With the violence against women and kids today, you'd think there'd be safe places for them to go to, to hide in a safe place until help arrives.

Back in the late 70s and into the 80s, there were "Safe Place" volunteers that lent themselves to aiding in keeping people safe from violence or potential attacks from criminals.

Restaurants, gas stations, salons, grocery stores, and all other kinds of businesses would have a special sign on the front of their business to advertise they were a SAFE SPACE for anyone need assistance or help. Whether it be running from a criminal, hiding from an abusive parent or husband, or needing medical aid........there were places where anyone in need could seek shelter and help.

SO WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED?????

we have a few here in vegas were i am at....

Really? Good for them!!!

There used to be tons of these places all over DFW, but in the past 20+ years, I've only see ONE small business with this sign in their window.
