Dear Uncle P wanted the four regions which are Russian territory and that is exactly what he has, less a few remnant stragglers .
Essentially Russia has set up high ground defence positions and let the Nazis effectively attack in a suicidal way.
Russia's vastly superior ordnance has allowed them to sit tight and shell incoming forces as you shell peas. Which is why Russian deaths are around 20 000 and US Nazi force deaths are almost any figure above 200, 000 .
The ratio which matches the artillery numbers and capability differences

Moscow has never yet had to employ its full reserves or top weapons .
