Rules for thee, but not for me didn't work for Marie Antoinette and it won't work for Pelosi.

While we watch Nancy Pelosi cry indignantly that she was set up by a bankrupted salon owner, now might be a good time to examine how elite leadership shields itself from mandates it imposes on the people. Pelosi was not only illegally using a business that had been shut down due to the pandemic, she was not wearing a mask in a public place as had been ordered by her own leadership. Clearly, she did not think her public safety laws applied to her.

Pelosi is not alone of course, and the "big one" is not hard to find. When the Affordable Care Act was imposed on Americans by the Obama administration, it was done so with the understanding that it applied to all because we are all in this together-no exceptions. So, Congress would have had to submit to a healthcare system that benefitted and taxed everyone equally. Is that the way it turned out? The reality of “rules for thee but not for me” became quickly evident as loopholes appeared out of nowhere.

As usual, the elites dispensing the decrees found a way to protect themselves from the effects, so feeling the pain of the passengers became irrelevant. They sailed off with a technicality that looked a lot like a disappearing lifeboat while the rest were to be left clinging to the deck chairs on the listing Titanic of Obamacare. Letting the rest of us sink while they apparently took a Marie-Antoinette approach should have been expected because history is full of similar examples, not the least of which is Pelosi.

Pelosi, like Marie Antoinette, is so far removed from the real-world tragedies faced by her own constituents that she cannot see that her actions could lead not just to Trump’s re-election but to her own downfall. Pelosi’s entitled hypocrisy is ubiquitous in her party and it is creeping into the public domain taking on a life of its own.

Controlling the media works only to certain degree and what is obvious cannot be hidden. People vote based mostly on their emotions and disgust is a strong emotion. “Rules for thee but not for me” is backfiring and Pelosi had no idea it was even an issue.

One wash and blow is not worth ten threads...But as far as elites go, it is true that they can do what you can't because it is their club and you are not ever going to be in it.

Oh yeah, that little loophole Congress found that after passing Obamacare which was SUPPOSED to include THEM, they fund a backdoor out of it.

Well they had to pass it first to find out what was in it. Duh.
