I think I had to subscribe to AMC+ to watch this. I don't remember.
I don't know how this 2010 series came to my attention, but I'm glad it did.
This is a spy drama series which is very good, considering there are no explosions every five minutes, kung-fu fights in the restroom, gunplay in any restaurants, or screaming. There's a suicide by gun offscreen, and a train crash at the very beginning, but other than that, no violence. This actually comes across as what real intelligence work is like.
The Rotten Tomatoes description: "Rubicon creates an intellectual puzzle for the mind that is pieced together with skillful writing, acting, and carefully-crafted storytelling."
Couldn't have put it better myself.
They somehow picked the perfect actors for each role.
There is one actor (Dallas Roberts) who looks so much like John Ritter, I would have sworn he was Ritter's kid, but I looked him up and he isn't.
I'm about halfway through the series. I just finished the mole hunt episode. Every episode has great writing.
The actor (Arliss Howard) who played Cowboy in Heavy Metal Jacket has this exchange while being polygraphed during a mole hunt:
Q: In the last five years, have you been sexually involved with any foreign nationals?
A: I'm sure I have. It's been a really good five years.
