I voted for him and wished he and his supporters on the ballot would have been successful. His plan and his talk on the nations economy was what convinced me to vote for him. Our nation needs men like him in government.

I and a very good friend debated voting for Ross Perot. My claim was he got a start in politics far too slow to win. Ed told me it did not matter, he voted for Ross Perot. I really believed in Ross Perot but did not want Clinton to beat Bush. Bush was not remotely as good as Perot yet he had a huge head start. My hope was GHW Bush would look at Perot and follow his lead. Clinton did not follow Ross Perot's lead. I knew he was not as well known and was not going to win.

I voted for him also. By doing so, I helped put Bill Clinton on office.
I told those then debating me that same thing. It was a way to help Bill Clinton. Republicans should have leaped all over the system of Ross Perot and told the USA how right he was but they would also follow Ross Perot. Clinton of course got the vote.

I have zero respect for the man.

Essentially, he was leading both Bush and Clinton, and then saw he was winning and inexplicably withdrew from the race

That told me that his intention was never to win, rather, it was just to tilt the advantage towards Clinton

Then he inexplicably got back in the race at the end and, of course, he never regained the lead, which is what he wanted all along, just to lose and play spoiler

Conversely, you have a person like Trump that has been impeached twice, taken to court so many times there are probably fewer stars in the sky, been shot in an assassination attempt, and inexplicably continues to run anyway.

Ross Perot is a coward and an ass.

A Patrician and a Pervert Against a Patriot

Terminal Americans never blame this insulting system of government. If the Constitution's crowned clowns had let us have an automatic-runoff election, then "a vote for Perot is a vote for Clinton" would have been meaningless. How many votes did Perot lose because of that sadly accurate talking-point?

That reason could be used in all elections. It should never be a reason not to vote.
