Pearsall is now in stable condition and a suspect is in custody, District 3 Supervisor Aaron Peskin told the local NBC affiliate.

The first-year receiver was reportedly targeted over his Rolex watch. There are also unconfirmed claims that Pearsall was at an autograph signing at or around the time the shooting took place.

Terrible.

Pearsall could have been killed. Depending on the seriousness of this injury, his professional career could be in jeopardy before he ever played a single snap in the NFL. And a teenager just ruined his own entire life.

Sorry to hear this about the young man. Didn't anyone warn him about staying out of this dangerous area in San Francisco? The teen that shot him is probably already at home with his parents due to SF's "no cash bail" policy.

Thankfully, it looks like he’s going to be ok.

Less than a week later, he’s out of the hospital and back with the team. He told the coach he would be able to play in week 1.

Obviously they need to make sure he’s fully healed before they put him on the field, but I admire his attitude. I like him. I’ll be rooting for him even more now.
