If you are talking about Roland Fryer, the Harvard Professor, he believed and repeated the lying narrative about violent racist cops, until......he decided to prove it by conducting his own research and bringing in some Research Assistants.
After the research was completed, he found that while the cops could be a bit more forceful at times with blacks, the cops weren't the black murdering racists that he was led to believe. Unsure he repeated his study with several new Research Assistants and the results didn't change, the cops weren't out rounding up and gunning down blacks in large numbers, only a handful of unarmed blacks were shot by cops.
When he told a fellow professor that he would publish his work, his fellow professor advised him to only publish the part about blacks being heavy-handed a bit more by the cops and not publish the truth about there being no racism in cops shooting blacks. It was important to keep the lie alive.

Of course whites commit more crime. The racial makeup of the country is something roughly like 80% white and 20% black. The real question is whether or not whites commit 80% of the crimes and blacks 20%. Inconvenient truths tell truer stories.

What he found was that cops in Houston did what you are saying and to not take his study as any indicator of national trends. But this video is not about Roland Fryer.
